Rules and How to Play the Tropical Dice Game
PARADICE is a pocket-sized dice game born in a beach bar on a southern island. Designed as a small tool to enjoy spare time, rolling the dice with tropical icons lets you feel the tropical vibe. Even in cities without seas or palm trees, carrying it in your pocket might bring the warm breeze of a distant south.
PARADICE is a fun and deep new game using three small dice. Roll the dice with tropical icons to compete for points. The rules are very simple and can be learned in just one minute. It’s suitable for 1 to 4 players and can be enjoyed quickly. The goal is to roll the dice for high scores, but special symbols can result in 0 points or even negatives, so deciding whether to roll again or stop is key to winning.
Each die features different combinations of tropical icons.
Special Icons
(RANI): The beautiful South Seas goddess who must be present to start. This essential icon has no points itself but is required for scoring. One RANI adds the total of the other two dice (e.g., RANI + Palm 10 + Flamingo 15 = 25 points), three RANIs grant a miraculous high score, but two result in a negative score...
(Bust): The fearsome black god that ends the turn with 0 points. Lurking on just one of the 18 die faces, it occasionally appears to dramatically alter the game.
Point Icons
Pineapple = 5 points.
Palm Tree = 10 points.
Flamingo = 15 points.
Sun = 20 points.
For 2 players, take turns; for 3 or more, decide on clockwise or counterclockwise and play one turn each.
1. First Roll: Roll all three dice.
Calculate the score based on the point rules below or choose to roll again for a higher score.
appears, ending the turn with 0 points immediately.
2. Re-Roll (Second and Third Rolls) (Up to 2 additional rolls, total of 3 including the first)
Choose any dice (1, 2, or all 3) to re-roll. Keep the unselected dice with their current faces.
If
appears during a re-roll, the turn ends with 0 points.
You can end the turn after the second roll. The turn ends at the third roll, and the score is determined by the dice at that point.
3. Determine the Score
Based on the three dice at the end of the turn (
not present).
0: 0 points (no score without a RANI).
1: Add the points of the other two dice (e.g., RANI + Palm 10 + Flamingo 15 = 25 points).
2: Subtract the points of the remaining die (e.g., RANI + RANI + Flamingo 15 = -15 points).
3: 200 points! (RANI + RANI + RANI = 200 points!)

The three dice have different icon combinations. Recognizing at a glance which die has
or
can give you an advantage in the game.

The die with
can be a risk or a reverse factor depending on the situation. Think carefully about whether to re-roll.
When playing with others: Compete in a single round or decide the number of turns in advance and compare total scores! Even if you lose, laugh it off and move on!
The thrill of deciding whether to roll or stop is the essence of PARADICE. Enjoy the game!
Draw a 3x3 grid on paper.
After each turn, write the score in any square (0 or negative scores must fill one square).
The game ends when all 9 squares are filled. The player with the highest total score wins.
Bonus: Earn +100 points per line if three squares in a row (vertical, horizontal, or diagonal) match the same number (e.g., 10-10-10).
PARADICE is not available for regular sale anywhere in the world. This is because the game was not created to be sold but to be enjoyed by many. The greatest joy for the creators and development team is for those who encounter PARADICE to have a wonderful time and come to love the game.
However, the method of acquisition remains a mystery. You might stumble upon it at a beach bar, seaside hut, night street bar, or guesthouse while traveling. No one knows when or where it will appear.
